• nublabs Logobot prototype Logobot is a small, affordable robot that can move and draw wirelessly. Logobot understands a dialect of Logo and can also interact with the MIT Media Lab's Scratch programming environment. Commands like forward, backward, right, left, pen up, and pen down allow you to write programs which control Logobot wirelessly, providing a physical context for introducing the concepts and practice of programming. Logobot's design documentation can also be studied and copied, providing the base for an introduction to electromechanical design and engineering when paired with the kit version of Logobot, allowing learners to build Logobot from the ground up.
  • nublabs nublogger prototype The nublogger is an affordable, open source datalogging platform originally designed for students and educators. Using Arduino-compatible code, the nublogger is comprised of a dongle and any number (well, up to 65,536) of sensors. The dongle mounts as a thumbdrive on your computer and can communicate wirelessly with its sensors, which log collected data in plaintext to a text file on your computer. Currently, we only ship the nublogger with a temperature sensor, but the platform can be easily adapted to any number of sensors. If you're interested in having a particular sensor designed or adapted for your use, please let us know!
  • Eric Staller's BubbleboatWhen we first moved into our our second home, we found that we worked next an awesome bike company whose owner was friends with artist Eric Staller. It turned out that Eric Staller's Bubbleboat was in need of restoration, and happened to be sitting in our building's loading bay. So, we're in the process of restoring the Bubbleboat's electricals and motors for a fall debut on the Charles River.
  • Mechpy is a Python package to make the process of designing and building constrained, mechanical systems easier. Eventually, we'd like to hook mechpy up to existing catalogues of mechanical parts and assemblies to make designing for available materials a matter of process, rather than a point of friction in the design process.
  • nubtalks logonubtalks is a lecture series we started to run when we were only a few days old. We're really excited about the Boston community, and we want to showcase all the awesome stuff that goes on, right underneath our noses. To that end, every other week, we find a couple, amazingly interesting people to come give a talk about their passion. From radical education to home chemistry labs to researching what Craigslist thinks the perfect girl is, we've got it all. Check out the nubtalks site for video and audio from all the past nubtalks. And join our nubtalks facebook group to keep up with the events.
